Launching the game needing a disc I no longer have

My game launcher continues to tell me that I need "The Sims 3 Town Life Stuff Disc" in order to launch. Which I found odd because I have downloaded many packs after this. The bigger problem, however, is that I no longer own that disc. How can I still play without that disc? Is there any way without uninstalling the disc it is asking for?

Register your games on origin and launch though there

There is a way to do it, I've used Seasons as an example in the case that you use expansion packs, (for your case this will be Town Life stuff) but it will apply assuming you've got only the base game. Make sure to backup your documents : electronic arts : sims3 before doing anything, to an external drive.

Here's an article on how to manually uninstall the Sims 3 base game: https://help.ea.com/article/manually-uninstalling-the-sims-3 Assuming you have expansion packs, you'll need to manually uninstall ONLY the latest one (merely type in google: manually uninstalling sims 3 x) and then download it via Origin.

• Now, say you're using the Seasons game disc for example, this would be the procedure:
• make sure all your games are registered on Origin and you have Origin client downloaded onto your PC/MAC ( http://origin.com/download )
• manually uninstall Seasons (follow as said above for instructions)
• open Origin and find Seasons and download it - then you can play without the use of a disc
