Latest software update [ Edited ]

So I've recently downloaded the 'Le Cinema Plumbob' from the Sims 3 store but every time I install it, it says I need to update my game software.

The thing that confuses me the most is, when I click the 'Update' tab on the game launcher it says it's up to date even after refreshing it. In the corner it says the version is: 18.0.126.021001 what's going on?

You are not looking at the right version number.  On a PC, if you hover your mouse over the base game icon in the launcher on the bottom, it should tell you a different number.  (on a Mac it's more complicated to find but you can ask me if you need that info).  That number should be 1.50.  If it isn't 1.50, you need to update your game manually.  The newest patch does not work on its own with the launcher.  Here is a post where you can find the link to the SuperPatch: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Current-Patch-1-50-Manual-links-and-more/td-p/67858

I've gone over it and yes it's the 1.50 patch.
