I can't run Sims 3 game launcher or game

I had installed the sims 3 games but had to unistall them because they were messing up. I tried to install them again but after it was finished I tried to open the launcher but all it says is "Sims 3 launcher has encountered a problem and needs to close" I can't play my games and I've tried everything.

Try resttetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps/td-p/714/

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.
