I am having issues with a code

I bought sims 3 in October and the code always says "this code has already been used

if the game when you bought it  was/is used/second hand if the original owner registered the code to their account the code is tied to that account and the code is non transferable nor can it be used on another account you might be able to get one for a fee from CS (I think it's $10)
