HELP PLEASE ITS URGENT

Hi, I recently installed all my sims 3 games onto my new mac. Everything is fine apart from create a sim in which the game freezes. I notice my cursor goes from the typical blue sims 3 cursor to my regular mac black and white cursor. The game completely freezes and either closes or I have to use "command, alt, escape" to close it! Please, someone! HELP
