Graphics card problem - how do i fix it?

I have a sony vaio with intel hd 4000 / nvidia geforce gt 740m graphics.

I installed the sims 3, but, apparently, the graphics card isn't recognized - so my game is all grey and white and weird and "unplayable".

Can someone help me?
