Games will not install

Downloaded the Sims 3 perfectly fine, just now i have just bought the Sims 3 Supernatural and the game will not download and keeps saying that i need to update my sims. so after this is update it, and again and again it continues with a little pop up explaining that 'i cannot download the content of the supernatural without updating my sims 3'. Still stuck and very upset that i have wasted my money, any help??

@charlotteparnell Is your computer a pc or mac. Is the base game icon in Origin? What is the version of your game? lower left in the launcher.
