Freeze in "create a sim"

The game usually will work properly in the play section, but after about 10 minutes or less when creating a sim it will freeze and often close the whole game down back to my desktop. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

You're graphic chip is below spec (you need at least 128 MB of dedicated memory, you only have 64 MB) so unless you have a switchable graphic card, this can account for lags.

Have you tried lowering the graphic settings ?
