Disc Authentication failure Sims 3

Everytime I try to play Sims 3, my launcher will constantly say that my game can not be played because the disc is not inserted in the driver. The disc is always in my driver. Usually when this issue occurs I will eject the disc and then launch it again then press the retry button. However, doing this no longer helps the process of launching Sims 3. What is going on?

also, I do not have a mac i have an asus.
