I needed to free space on my C: drive so I moved the files (I was unaware at the time that cutting and pasting files doesn't work), I moved them to my new HDD. When I went to play it Origin was telling me I needed to re-download it. I knew why, I just didn't know what to do about it. So I tried moving the files back to the original location, but it didn't work. Then I deleted all of the files and tried downloading it again. In fact I did it about 4 times. It still didn't work. It would finish installing and the frame of the installation wizard would appear but a window in front would pop up saying:
"The setup has detected that version 1.67.2 of The Sims 3 is already installed.
This setup installs an earlier version of The Sims 3 (1.42.130).
You will have to uninstall the previous version before installing this version."
The problem is I had deleted all of the Sims 3 files that I know of, so there shouldn't have been any other version installed. I tried repairing the game but that doesn't work either. I uninstalled and reinstalled Origin too but no luck. I don't know what else I can do to fix this.
(If it helps I have three packs; High-End Loft, Late Night and Town Life)
