Can't even play my new Sims 3 game.

So, I downloaded Sims 3, and Sims 3 Late Night ... And I've installed it, but when I press the orange "play" button, the Sims screen opens, and nothing else happens. I don't know what else to do. This is the second time I've installed it already.
