Can't Install Sims 3

I already had the disc installed on my laptop, unfortunately I lost the disc, but had the overwhelming urge to play. I bought the online starter pack, which included the base game, late night, and high-end loft stuff. The last two installed just fine, however the base game would not install because I already had a version. I tried to find it to uninstall the disc and couldn't find it in my computer at all. When I would click on the expasions to open and play them they would ask for the base game to be installed. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. How do I fix this problem?
