Athletic skill wont increase

My sim can increase any other skill except the athletic skill i have tried multiple solutions and have failed. I did not have this issue prior to updating my game this is very dissapointing please fix

sorry we're players here trying to help each other do you have mods ? for testing pourposes you can try go to edit town save acopy of the sim/household to the libiary then start a new game move the sim/household into the new game and see if the skill increase  will work again
