Activate Sims to Origin

I can't activate my Sims to Origin, it say that it has already been activated. I used the CD-key when I installed Sims 3 directly when it came out and when Sims started saying I could activate it to Origin to play online, it didn't work. It said that the key was already used. Thanks for answering.
