I think I have the exact same problem they had only I don't have Sims 3 on my computer (laptop can't handle it.) I did exactly what you told them to do and it came up with most of it having the exact same numbers. Is there a way I can fix it that doesn't involve Sims 3?

Hey I believe this is the ULTIMATE solution to all the compatibility problems of Sims 2 Ultimate Collection with windows 8.1:

bluishpenta has found the solution. Simply follow the instruction to remove that little evil trademark sign in the registry. Problem solved!mileywink:

Hi, I've been having the same paul.dll error(I'm currently stuck with a Windows 8.1 and can't find my Sims 3 disc) and followed your instructions to a T.
Launching The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection now leads me to a new error: [Internal error message: Unable to open Languagefile "lang.ini"]

it will verify games files next it will repair it self then it will update the files if needs to
