Sims 2 Games not opening on Windows 7- coming up with error message :(

★★★ Newbie

Help fellow simmers!
So I recently found all my Sims 2 games and installed upon my Windows 7 computer.
I've restarted my computer and placed the disk into the disk drive like I used to to play it. It comes up with the usual Menu for sims 2, with all the games and then I click play, but it comes up with this message
"A required security module cannot be activated.
This program cannot be executed (8016)."

What did you do to fix it?
Why is it coming up with this?? What can I do to make the game work on my computer??
Please if anyone can help me?
Thanks you!!

Hi @strikey0928,

This seems to be the same issue you can read about here. Do you know which processor your computer has? If not, don't worry, we can take a look for you if you share with us a dxdiag of your computer. A dxdiag contains technical information about your computer. You can find instructions on how to get it here, and you can attach it to your answer.

We will be here if you have any questions Standard smile
