Downloading Sims 2 Without Disc?

Hi, 

I purchased Sims 2 ages ago and I felt the need to get back into it lately. Unfortunately, my laptop doesn't have a disc input so I was wondering can I download the game simply with the code on the back of the manual online??

The Sims 2 game codes can't be redeemed in Origin, so this is not an option. However, one of our advisers might be able to turn your physical copy of the game into a digital copy.
