Wild west event problems stopping me from getting prizes

This is so frustrating. The Wild West event on my Kindle Fire HD never got past the 3rd item because every time I try to go to a friend town the game exits (this is a known issue, I've already been in contact with support about this). The game also exits on me every 5 minutes. It takes a half hour of rebooting just to tap my characters when their tasks are done.

Now act 1 will end in 34 hours and there is no way l will be able to get Wes Doobner's Rib Huts BECAUSE OF YOUR STUPID ISSUES. This event sent the game back by two years.

What generation is your kindle? I'm asking because a player reported that upgrading their device helped greatly.
