Trapped characters

I have three characters trapped in my coffee shop on 49 day tasks to collect a single cup of coffee. How do I fix this without paying the 500 some doughnuts to get them free. I obviously did not choose 49 day missions so am assuming this is some sort of glitch. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and that did not fix the problem.
