I had this same problem and found the solution here: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Simpsons-Tapped-Out/TEMP-FIX-for-Tapped-Out-game-Keeps-Crashing-Auto-Re... this worked for me after not being able to go on my game for about 4 days after an update, for my other device i used bluestacks can be easier if you dont own anything else but a pc and dont have anyones you can borrow, as described did get kicked out after about 10 seconds but the second time around worked as normal. no progress lost, hope this works for you too as its the only solution i have found so far thats worked for me.
