I have not had one quest offer since Christmas, which was the Pimento Grove. Since then I have only been getting tasks, the latest being the "collect money from shops".
Has EA abandoned this game?

For anybody who would like a general outline on what quests you'll get and when, check out The Simpsons Tapped Out Wiki, http://simpsonswiki.net/wiki/The_Simpsons:_Tapped_
They've listed all of the quests and a general outline that you can follow to see approximately where you are in the storyline. Also, a HUGE tip. You should go to your neighbour's towns every once in awhile because sometimes the game doesn't sync up to the game server upon logging in, so you might not get a quest that you are supposed to get. The game is syncronized to a server which sends you random quests to do every now and then; and it is also what determines when you get your story/building quests. When you visit another person's town and go back to your own, it forces the game to resync to the server and will get you back on track with your questing. This is especially important if you are using a wifi-only device, or if you switch between 3G/LTE and Wifi frequently.
I hope this helps some of you guys out there as this helped me when I started playing a month or so before the Christmas update. Really wish I could go back to the Halloween update and get everything I've missed so far... since I own EVERYTHING in the game aside from the last 10 or so story buildings I need (and the new Valentine's Day items). I'm hoping with next year's Halloween update they bring everything from 2012 back and add on whatever new stuff they bring for 2013.

It's been my experience that the ability to level moves must faster than the time it actually takes to complete quests. (For instance, if the quests require a character to do an 8 hour job and THEN build a building that takes 24-hours, by the time those 30 hours are up I can advance a level or so from collecting rents and having the other characters do odd jobs.) BUT, the quests seem to be designed so that they HAVE to be done in order - so you have to do all those silly money-collecting quests before it's going to give you the cooler quests to build things and unlock new characters.
I'm at level 12 now and I've found that I generally don't get the quests until about 2 levels after it says they will be available. For instance, I'm currently building the Gulp & Blow from Level 10 and hope that Willie's Shack (also Level 10) will show up as a quest when that building is finished. The Nuclear Plant - which according to levels I should have built by now - is a distant dream.
Hope that helps some people.
