but it wont let me place it, its still ghosted,

I don't how you received this as gift? But are you SURE that it IS the lard lad and NOT the skin for for the lard lad? There is a difference between the two. The skin was given out in the Christmas event. If you do NOT have the building, then the skin will stay locked in your storage box until you pay donuts for the actual building.
