Sims 4 Get to work. Cant follow sim to work?

I bought the game downloaded it. Then played. When sim was due for work doesnt give option to follow just goes to work as if i dont have Get to work expansion. Except i have all the extra furniture that goes with the game. Uninstalled and installed again. Doesnt work still...

That's correct. The criminal was one of the base game jobs. The expansion comes with 3 jobs and those you can come along with.

You could say why not the other jobs, mainly because the other jobs are all from the base game, and not everyone has the GTW expansion, or don't feel te need to join their Sim at their work.

There are 3 jobs where you can follow your Sim to work.
That is scientist, doctor and detective. 
Are trying you following your Sim with one of these jobs?

so basically, if you are a criminal. you cant see where you work? seems like laziness

There are 3 jobs where you can follow your Sim to work. That is scientist, doctor, and detective.

When your Sim has that job you should be asked to go with them when they go to work.
