Check that your antivirus hasn't blocked origin. I had this exact problem after playing for a few weeks. (Windows 7 with Kaspersky AV). When I checked the AV Quarantine I found it had blocked Origin from running. Make sure to add it to the exclusion list if your AV has blocked it.

Find the Origin task in the task manager then close it, then reinstall Origin.

Could you try what happens if you opt in Origin Beta and download the newest beta version (can be done in Origin Options)

For me the problem was I had origin installed on E: and the sims had to be on C: I installed origin to C: and now it works.

I had to change which drive I installed it on because one is FAT32 and the other is NTFS and sims 4 has files over 4Gb

It's been a while since I've tried to play the sims because I was so annoyed with this happening. Randomly tried today just to see and it's still happening. I retried all of the suggestions in this thread with no luck. Has there been an actual solution to this problem yet?

Every now and then I try to play sims 4 but it never works. I've tried everything suggested here too and still nothing. Don't think I'll ever be able to play sims 4. Wish they'd come up with a fix

1. Which version of Origin are you using ? Did you guys opt in the beta version ?
