Hi @saykenn
Look here and follow this steps https://help.ea.com/en/article/connection-troubleshooting-basic/
After that if your issue persist....
-clear DNS cache
https://documentation.cpanel.net/display/CKB/How+To+Clear+Your+DNS+Cache
- clearing hosts file
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972034
-restart your PC.
And now I would suggest you to perform a Clean Boot http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/

Thanks for your interest. Unfortunatelly it's not working. Haven'n been able to play the game yet (PC).
I launch the game, press Enter in the welcome screen.
Game tries to connect to EA Servers. Connection fails and error message 40050000 appears (same image as OP)
After pressing enter to accept the error, game connects to EA server but gets incredibly lagged (not playable at all).

Cleared DNS, cleared hosts file, checked the router firewall, uPnP, ports, antivirus, ran the game as admin, checked for updates and reinstalled the game. Not working. Other EA games work correctly, even online.
Has to be an error from the game.
Nice to spend money just to waste time instead of playing.

Same problem here. Just spent £55 for a game that is unplayable. Good job EA.

I've had this problem since the release of the game, I found a solution by running it as admin.
The game itself worked at the time and my PC didn't have any trouble running it.
A few hours later when I tried to open NFS again, the same issue came back,
even running it as admin didn't work anymore.
Yesterday there must have been an update because I restored a previous version,
ran it as admin again and it worked fine. And today we're back at square one
the game doesn't want to connect to ea servers.
And when it does 'connect', it's like running the game on a 10 year old computer.
As much as they want to blame us for our bad PC's, it's their fault, not ours.
