NHL 17 will not load. Continuous "checking" screen.

Last night I randomly got disconnected to a player after scoring with 3 seconds left and about to win the game. It said I lost connection to EA servers. Then today I try to get onto the game and after hitting A to launch the game it will not load and just has a white screen with a constant loading circle that is labeled "checking". It continues to do this every time I try to get on the game. It can't be a "disc problem" because I downloaded the game from the online store. Here's a picture of what the screen looks like:

It is possible a full power cycle of your console will get you past this, let us know either way, thanks.

NHL 17 keeps saying checking in top right corner. It’s a digital download game. Have left on this screen for hours and nothing changes. Any help is appreciated!

WON'T WORK FOR ME BUT WORKED FOR SOMEONE ELSE TRY LOGGING IN AS A DIFFERENT USER THEN LOG BACK INTO YOURS OR EVEN AS A GUEST MIGHT WORK.
