NHL 17 draft

Hi,

I've been playing Be A Pro mode on NHL 17 and I've just completed my first season in CHL with the London Knights.

However, the game has started a 2nd season in the CHL without entering the draft. My player is rated 67 and I got to, but lost in the final 4 of the Memorial Cup.

Any ideas whether this is normal? As most information on the internet implies that the draft will happen regardless of final rating.
