Help building Porch stairs?

So I make a foundation and now I'm trying to add stairs so my sims can go in and out. The stairs are huge and they won't "automatically adjust" to the foundation. I've tried rotating them every which way and it still won't work.

Try finishing the walls, so the room behind it is an actual room.

Jumpies13, do what Phantomlover 1717 advised, but if that still doesn't work you could always build the foundation out in front of the door a square or two and then add the stairs to those squares -- that usually works for me!    Good luck!

@Jumpies13 I personally have my house on stilts and the stairs adjusted to them.
