Friends list always showing offline

My self and my friend started to play PvZ Heroes, Even when we are in the same wifi it shows offline in both of our friends list. 

Is there any fix for this?

check your wifi settings

available status only shown when both of you on main menu

It's been happening with me too as you can see from my post here https://answers.ea.com/t5/Plants-vs-Zombies-Heroes/BUG-Red-X-Away-offline-friend-s-list/m-p/9440370#... ever since the previous season reset the friend battles have stopped working. I have contacted someone to let them know EA about this offline bug so just hang on tight.

I was on with tech support about this issue.  They told me to call Apple support.  We did all of the basic troubleshooting things. Reinstall etc.....  

They have no idea what is happening either.
