Disconnected. (Internet was fine)

I was beating a guy 4-1 and he suddenly started scoring on himself and purposely getting penalties, pretty much wasting my time. By the last minute of the game the score was 9-2 and out of no where it says I've lost connection to the game (not the servers). I never got the win or any coins and it was as if the game never happened. What gives?
