Stuck re entering registration key on Spore

When I installed spore, I was prompted to enter my reg key before installing. I entered it in, and it installed. Then I tried to launch the game. It flashed a box, asking me to re-enter my key (picture). When I enter it this time and click "DONE", it disappears for less than a second, before reappearing. The key I entered is still there, but rather than let me continue, it tells me to enter it again.

BEFORE YOU SUGGEST A SOLUTION, I HAVE TRIED:

- Uninstalling and reinstalling the game

- Running the SPOREAPP application located in the Sporebin folder

- Running SPOREAPP as administrator.

- Looking in Reg Edit on my computer to find the key and make sure it is entered correctly. (It was)

- Deleting the key in the field, and reentering it again.

- Hitting DONE repeatedly. (Big surprise, that didn't work.)

I AM USING:

Windows 7 64-bit laptop

Intel Pentium

4 GB Ram

that's about the extent of knowledge of the parts that I have.
