Spore - Installed but not working due to Error Message - MAC

I am getting the following error message when trying to run Spore for the first time on my MAC:

Exception raised

unhandled page faul on read access to 0X00000000

at address 0x00817928

Do you wish to debug

I have tried clicking yes and no, but nither have solved the problem.

I have just bought downloaded the game via the origin service.
