Cannot Connect to Spore Servers

I cannot log into spore, when I type in the information it gives me an error saying "Login Failed there was an error connecting to the spore servers" I bought Spore and both expansion packs on steam, and I was getting invalid login messages when trying to log in with my EA account. So I used the CD keys to the games on Origin and downloaded them there, and regardless of whether I launch it with Steam or Origin I get the error saying I can't connect to the servers.
