Can't login to Spore

I have a disk game, running on a Mac. It's original and everything works fine, except for the fact that when I try to login, the game says it can't because of bad connection. I tried to watch youtube videos and do stuff that needs a kinda good ping but everything works fine. What should I do? Can I access Internet from disk games?
