Can't login to Origin's Spore

I've been trying for a while and lookig around in different forums, but everytime I try connecting my account to spore, there seems to be some kind of error tha doesn't let me, I've already tried the game in both Steam and Origin and it's the same, also I've tried re-installing it and there is still no progress, all I do is just type my EA accoutn information into the login and then wait until it says "An error has occured" I just hope there is still a way to download other's creations and such, because without that Galactic Adventures becomes kind of dull.

Is the Spore server currently down? I tried signing in on Spore creature creator and my regular Spore game on my other computer and it appears that the game cannot connect to the server. I assume the issue is server-side since it fails to work on both games on both computers.
