Simcity Buildit crashing my ipad when battery hits 60%

My simcity buildit app crashes my ipad every time my ipad 2 battery is at 60% or lower.  At 61% or higher it runs fine, but it crashes as soon as it gets to 60%, and if i try to start the app with the battery lower than 60% it insta-crashes.

This game crashes every 10-20 minutes on my iPhone. It's hella annoying and they won't fix it.
