RX 480 unplayable FPS

I have upgraded my GPU from R9 270 to RX40 - STRIX, 8GB and now game is unplayable for me. I have tried lot suggestions found online except returning to windows 7 (am at 10 now) like directX, GPU tweaks with power limit, turning off AA in game but turn it on on GPU settings etc.....its 5th day since i have this graphic and i cant play.
At fleet or at normal play zones i get 150-200fps but when im in combat (PvP especially) it drops to around 2 FPS for 5-8 seconds and than it picks back to 50 for some short time and than again drops to 2-4 FPS.

I monitored CPU and GPU with MSI afterburner and it is not going over 50% load at any point.
Other games like Witcher 3, or Tomb Raider are working great so hardware is fine.

With my old GPU i had no issues

@NinjaCupi

Posting here as well for closure given you reverted to Win 7 and now lowest fps is 70

Suggest sending details to AMD as well it could be a driver/OS issue - www.amd.com/report also contact the manufacturer in case brand specific

Bit rough to revert OS to get the card working better

Try using DDU (link) to completely remove the AMD driver then do a clean install firstup

I have seen your thread in the swtor forums (links) , I gather you have seen all the threads about Rx480 and low fps via googling

Initially however If you changed the cooler on the CPU at the same time as the card what is the temp getting too on the CPU just in case it isn't sitting correctly ?

Swtor makes a good thermal test on a system

Im gona try that driver delete thingy when i get home from work.

Honestly i did not checked CPU temperature but since other games that are graphically demanding are not having any issues i figured it should not be the case. Frown

Btw thx bro

@NinjaCupi

If there is a cooling issue it will appear with swtor, something to check that is for sure.

Let me know how you go can help keep looking if needed
