The HDMI EDID table part may be ok (it is a different part of the table to HD15/VGA) , hence it booted ok , the game may be ok now , but I would if your comfortable still create the override using CRU just to be on the safe side

Yes only way to know for certain is to try and play again

Edit - If you get issues like before try pressing the ALT + Enter keys  should switch to window mode
