Turn off in-game chat for PvZ on PS4

We are adults and find it creepy playing this game and listening to the chatter of small children.  How do we mute this on the PS4?  There must be an option in the game.  If not then this would be a massive design oversight.

Also there is absolutely no manual online for the PS4 controls that I can find anywhere on the EA site.  Does a manual even exist?

You could just mute everyone in the lobby with the 'Mute All' button. I believe it's triangle when on the score/leaderboard.

You can get to the in-game manual while on the Main Menu

This helps, but I want a system setting for turning it off.  I don't want my 6 year old hearing some 35 year old guy cussing like a sailor.  (preferably a silly game that grabs the attention of 6 year olds would have a rich offline experience, but that isn't the case here  *sigh*)
