Will my free trial pause if I not using the game? PvZ GW2

After buying a new mouse, I'm planning to buy PvZ GW2. I'm going to try the free trial but I want to know if the free trial pause while I'm not using. I don't want to have a panic when someone needs my help in the house (I'm the eldest) and I only have 10 hours. I would like to be able to make the most of the free trial.

PS: When I buy the game, will I have to start over? Or will my free trial progress transport to it?

@TriggerSteam If you leave a Trial game paused your time will continue to tick down. The only way to ensure this does not happen is to fully exit the game.
