Ps4 Split Screen Multiplayer Crash

On ps4 every time I try online split screen the game starts to get jittery and uplayable. I have to close the entire game and restart it. If you play solo it does not do this. This is a new occurrence as the first few days split screen worked flawlessly. Anyone have any ideas?
