new windows 8.1 EI 11 browser but compatiblily scan shows EI 7.0

I just purchase a new computer-downloaded flash and enabled, also Java and followed those instructions except in internet options under advanced, Java does not show up??  Also since no Pogo games will load, I did the Pogo Help and compatibility Scan - it shows browser - not supported.  below that it shows system information as:

Java Versions installed 1.7.0_67

Operating System Windows 8.1

Flash version 11.8.800

Resolution 1536 x 864

Browser IE 7.0

Cookies Enabled? True

Do Not Track False

I already have internet explorer as my default and clicked on the box "open internet tiles on the desktop"

So why is my browser not supported?

You have Pogo set in compatibility mode. take Pogo out of compatibility mode, and your games will play correctly.

There's a tutorial here which explains about compatibility settings - take a deep breath and read it slowly!

You need compatibility setting to be OFF for Pogo.
