Battlefield 2142 login issue

Hi

I've recently reinstalled BF 2142 and I can't get passed the login screen.
I can't remember my old account, I can't retrive it and I can't create a new one. The game is stuck on "Contacting EA Master Server". Is there a way around this? Is this related to GameSpy shutting down the online servers?

Any help is appriciated, thanks!
