[Battlefield 1943] Battlefield 1943 for XBOX 360 will not connect

I was having the same issue, but resolved it on my own, after reading many different threads.

Resolution:

1. I narrowed down that  the "login" screen when starting BF1943 was actually trying to create a EA account and failing. Using my pc, I went to EA's online site, now Origin, and created the account there. For those of you already with an account, just use your existing one.

Now, this is the important step:

2. You have to link your EA account to your Xbox Live Gold account, and the only way to do this is while logged into Origin/EA online (thru PC) is to "Add Friends" and select "connect with Xbox Live Account"

Then, ta-da! When you go back to the Xbox and start up the game, you don't need to waste time logging in with EA again!

It's an easy but well buried fix.

One thing that blocked my creating the account via my xbox was the password requirements,  Use upper / lower / number and you're in.

My son too paid for the download for his xbox 360 and is forever stuck trying to connect. We've spent too much time searching threads of how to fix the issue. EA/Origin......please do the right thing.......nothing complicated.......fix it or allow the refund. Is that too much to ask?

This worked man! All I did was sign into EA/ORIGINS with my sons account and it finally connected. Couldn't connect his Xbox account but didnt need to.

I am having the same problem - its so frustrating. I just want my money back really now. Tried clearing cache have my EA account.
