I've literally gone in circles with this. Why is it not so simple to get rid of a PSN from an origin account. I'm being told you I can transfer all my data to a new account and then move it back but why can't I just remove the PSN from my origin account. I literally don't use the PSN anymore, I'm fed up with the support I'm receiving too.

Yea I just tried support to and it sucked. Im just being told its not possible to unlink my PSN account from an old Origin account that is in active. What kind of bullfart is that. A big gamer developer like EA has that kind of bad support and idiotic game client. Can´t understand that this aint a joke. Coz it sure feels like a joke

@Marzqi Hi,
As outlined in this article: http://help.ea.com/en/article/linking-your-origin-
If your console IDs are connected to different EA accounts or to an incorrect account, it is possible to have an EA Advisor transfer certain items for you. However, doing so can result in permanently losing data from your EA account, console account, or both. You can find more details on the risks of persona transfers here.
*Note: EA Advisors cannot transfer your console ID to an EA Account that already has a console ID of the same type (Xbox LIVE gamertag or PlayStation online ID) attached to it.
Cheers,
Nils

I completely agree as well. I just went through the torture that is dealing with Origin / EA "support" (using quotes is the only way that I can stomach referring to this organization as support).
For the sake of argument, I'll accept the thought process that an Origin account tied to an Email address to which I no longer have access cannot in any way, shape, or form be verified. I certainly question how EA/Origin can deem this acceptable when there are certainly other ways to verify an account (and if there's not, then shame on EA/Origin for making these accounts an onerous, sole means of access), but I will accept this.
With that as a given, how does it make sense if I can prove that I own an Xbox Live Gamertag and I can prove that I own another Origin account tied to a verifiable Email address, but I can't tie these two items together (essentially because I switched ISPs several years ago)? This puts me in a situation where my access to a large amount of game content that I purchased is not available.
I'm getting rid of all of my EA products based on my experience today. They've effectively won their battle with me... I have better things to do than to tolerate this manner of consumer treatment. I certainly take my share of blame for putting any manner of trust in an organization with the customer service reputation EA/Origin holds in the industry.
Maybe EA and Origin are still denying a alleged security breach from late last year, but this certainly seems to me that those whose data was potentially compromised are suffering consequences from rigid and non-sensical security parameters.

To the community manager, the accepted answer is not sufficient. I followed its instructions and it failed me, here is why.
A week ago I talked to online chat and asked them for help. They told me point blank they had no ability to remove the gamertag. The even when so far as to get me to contact Xbox support as its a "microsoft" issue. Then I have both of them on online chat back and forth and neither were able to resolve the issue. They opened case and I never heard back from anyone.
Yesterday morning, I called EA support and after only a 5 minute wait had a support person with an american accent on the line. In about 5 mins they had the errant gamertag removed for me.
Their is a large disparity between chat support in some remote country who have little access to the tools required to solve this and phone support who clearly have the tools at hand. Please update your accepted answer to indicate you need to get in contact with technical support by phone and chat support will not be able to help them resolve the issue. I hope this helps.

I have a similar problem where my PSN account linked to some random chinese account and I cant get it linked to my real origin accout which has the same username and e-mail address as my PSN account...
EA have told me it's a PSN problem. I'm not sure how that can be true if they have the databases that link the accounts...
Will try and contact EA again.

It seems I am not the only one that is disgusted at the support EA offers. I do not have access to my old PSN account anymore, so I would like to unlink it from my Origins account. I called last Wednesday and was told it was possible to do that, but it was too late at the time because the specialist( or person who can make that happen as left) has left. I was told to contact them another day. I just contact EA support now and I was told it was not possible. WTF? I've read in forums that users were able to get their old gamertags or PSN unlinked. I plan on requesting a call back ASAP.
I was told that I could create a brand new Origins/EA account and they would transfer any games (PC only) that I own onto this new account. This step seems a little backwards and excessive. Why can't there support team unlink an account. I can not reiterate the fact that I was told it was possibly to unlink my old account and then told by someone else its not possible. I plan on purchasing more product from EA, but at this rate I'm not too sure about it now.
My questions for now is...has anyone gotten their old PSN or GAMERTAG unlinked before?
Has anyone gotten their old PSN or GAMERTAG unlinked before?
Why isn't there an unlink option with EA/Origins. Bethsada has it Ubisoft has it. This seems ridiculous EA!
P.S. Some of your workers' accents are so strong. I have a very hard time understanding them.
