Sims 3 Problem ErrorCode 7049:404

Hello There.

I have a code from a friend for Sims 3.

I download Origin , run it and i want to download sims 3.

I click on "Download" and then come this ErrorCode on my Screen:

ErrorCode 7049:404

I Run Origin as Admin.

I have reinstall Origin.

But nothing works.

Please help me.

Hi,

I've recently bought The Sims 3 with the OriginHumble Pack.

I've successfully add the game into my Origin Library. The game was downloading fine (54%). I had to reboot my computer before the end.

After that I was unable to relaunch the download.

Even with other games of my library (such as Battlefield3, Mass Effect etc...)

I have the following error message :"File not found. Error : 7049:404".

I already try to refresh the identification token by log out my session and uninstall manually Origin.

That doesn't work.

I'm also having the same problem.  I bought The Sims 3 University Life. Ever time I try to download the games from Origin it downloads 100% but I get Error 7049:404.

I have:

• Uninstall Origin
• Manually Uninstall Origin
• Reinstall Origin
• Looked into my DownloadCache in Program Data and the folder is empty
• Had three Online chats with EA Game Advisers( All three of them told me they don't know what the problem is.)
• Disabled my firewall
• Disabled anti-spyware
• Made my firewall allow Origin through
• Disabled User Administrator
• Checked "Update to the beta version if available"
• Had Origin update to Beta Client
• Unchecked remember me and manually retype your password

I hope EA will be able to fix the error soon. School starts for me next week  and I really hope I will be able to play it by the weekend before I'm super busy with classes.

I did some googling around, and one was to right click on the icon and "check for updates", and another was to do the full nuclear uninstall of Origin and install it fresh, then try again: https://help.ea.com/article/manually-uninstalling-origin

Hi chuckle and thank you.

I tried all the solutions but unfortunatly, that doesn't work for me.

I found a funny thing with the last solution. I was collecting the logs from Origin folders to send them to EA Support.

I checked one of the log files and I found an HTTP url. With this URL, I managed to download the binaries from the game (in my case 7Go+ for The Sims3).

Its a little bit odd to find this kind of link in a log files, Warez team would be very please to find that kind of "feature".

Even with the binaries only, I can't launch it. And I still have the same error with the Origin Client.

So, I can't launch any games of my libraries that I paid.

I think I'll try to get a refund for all my Origin games, this is ridiculous.

My entire library is still inaccessible and I don't receive any suggestion from official EA member so far.

My game finally downloaded!! 

This is what I did:

• Exit origins
• Go to My computer \C\Program Files\Origin games
• Delete the entire Sims 3 University file
• Logged into Origin
• Download the game again [Most likely the download will fail]
• Cancelled the download, press  the little X button
• Restarted computer
• Logged into Origin 
• Download the game again
• The game should start  downloading 1% at a time [It will take some time. About 30 minutes]
• When the download is complete you should got an icon on your desktop.

And there you go. mileywink:

That's how I got my game to download. I'm not sure if the Origin Tech team did something in the background, but I'm just happy it's working and I didn't lose my money.

I played the game for three hours with out any interruptions. I truly and whole heartedly hope that this method help anyone who have Error 7049:404.

I have tried all of these suggestions and my game (The Sims 3) will still not download. I had some luck with what forevercharmed25 suggested, it changed to preparing download and has been on 0% for over an hour. I am so frustrated. I am excited about my new game and would like to play it, but I'm starting to feel like I wasted my money. I have been on the computer for hours trying to get this game to work. I had no idea this would be so time consuming and frustrating. Please fix this issue.
