Running game on Vista O/S

Hi I recieved a MASS3 EFFECT DVD Game for Xmas and installed it on my HP tower PC, O/S Vista, dual core 3G with 30GB hard drive free on main disk drive C:\ with BT internet connection which meats requirments stated on DVD case.

The game wont run? any advice please.
