Downloading Sims 4 On New PC

So basically I had Sims 4 on disc, installed and used on a PC. It ran fine. Now the PC has totally burned out and is unusable, so I want to install Sims 4 onto a new PC. I've downloaded Origin and I can see Sims 4 on my account. When I try downloading it, it says "Preparing" for a while then it comes up with an Download Error.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Origin, restating the PC and typing in my product code again. Nothing has worked. Any help?

Hi, almost the same thing is happening to me, and I like the previous user have trouble with this question. I downloaded origin, and everything was going fine. I bought Sims 4 and pressed download. It said preparing, so I decided to wait. I waited for about 5 hours, checking every once in a while if it downloaded, but it continued to prepare. I am very confused what to do, and I am worried that I just wasted my money.      If you know the answer to this situation, please reply to this problem. Thank you!
