Direct X error on Bejeweled and Dragon Age

every time i try to install dragon age or bejeweled i get a direct x error and the downloader stops the installation does anyone know how to fix it?

I fixed my issue for updating the AMD video driver to the latest version and then installing the directx redistributable package (June 2010).  Whatever file was missing or corrupted was repaired by the process.  I was unable to successfully run the directx redistributable until I updated the video driver
