need for speed games & widows 8

I have been playing nfs for many years I haven't had problems installing them only problem was the core issue with undercover.  I cannot install pro street and I am struggling with the settings on nfs shift 2 (they won't save).  I am currently using windows 8.1 is this the issue.  struggling with many games it seams
